Indifference
The most dangerous action that exists
Is far worse than when violence persists
It’s not anger
Or hate
Or jealousy
It’s not obsession,
possession
Or being greedy…
It’s to continue joking
while learning
Someone lost their past
Looking the other way
While explosions of terror blast
Its having a shopping spree
When others are scraping their last
It’s a superficial brunch
Next to a death mass
To see suffering
And respond with nothing
To laugh and play dumb
To be emotionally numb
To be a witness and not testify
To be a bystander without rectify
Your unwillingness to move
To feel or to care, as you’re fed the facts
Is what makes these things
the most dangerous acts
If no one is responsible
to do what’s right
Means the wrong will win easy
without a fight
Indifference is the poison
that kills everything slowly
It’s the price to be paid
for choosing to live lowly.
